PENSACOLA, Fla. - The UWF men's basketball team will play host to Fort Stewart in an exhibition game on Sunday at 3 p[.m. at the UWF Field House.

Head coach Jeff Burkhamer's team was chosen fifth in what appears to be a very wide-open race in the Gulf South Conference.

UWF welcomes back reigning GSC Freshman of the Year Jon Brown who averaged 14.6 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from the floor. They also added eight newcomers to the roster this year, along with redshirt post players Conor Flanagan and Chinedu Okonkwo. A year after winning the GSC Tournament and making the program's first NCAA Tournament in 2017-18, the Argos were hit hard by injuries and finished 2018-19 with a 12-16 record and 8-12 in league action.

The regular-season begins with the GSC-SIAC Challenge on Friday in Valdosta, Ga. against Albany State at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
