Melbourne, Fla.- After earning the number five seed in Super Region II, the UWF Men's Soccer team will open regional play Saturday night against the number four seeded Florida Tech Panthers Saturday night at Rick Stottler Field in Melbourne, Florida. Kickoff between the two squads is set for 7pm ET.
The Argonauts come into the contest at 13-2-3 and 6-1-3 in the Gulf South Conference while the Panthers are 11-3-1 and were 7-2-1 in Sunshine State conference action.
West Florida is strong on the attack as redshirt senior forward

Ed Chappe lead the offense with seven goals apiece. Both players were named to the All-GSC first team and D2CCA All-South Region first team. Freshman midfielder and GSC Freshman of the Year provides support up top with five goals and seven assists while GSC Defender of the Year
Jerry Wiltshire anchors a defense that has only allowed 13 goals all season while posting eight shutouts. Alves and Wiltshire were selected first-team All-Region as well.

Jihad Gomes has been steady all season for the Argos all season long, starting all 18 games and recording 56 saves and tallying a goals against average of .65.
About FIT: The Panthers started the year strong by posting a 9-0-1 record to start the season, which included wins over common opponents such as Auburn Montgomery and Saint Leo. Senior forward Guillermo Segovia sparks the offense with seven goals, eight assists and 22 points. The Spanish native had multi-goal contests against SSC opponents, Flagler and Barry. Fellow senior forward Per Henrik Nag provides reinforcements up front with five goals of his own.
Sophomore Jason Fesquet has been the primary goalkeeper for the Panthers this season with 46 saves, a GAA of .73 in 1,349 minutes.
