PENSACOLA, Fla. - The UWF women's basketball team will conclude the regular-season on Saturday afternoon with a road game at Montevallo. The Argonauts are ranked 19th in the country and bring a 22-4 overall record into the contest. They are in second place in the Gulf South Conference with a 16-3 record.
SENIOR NIGHT SUCCESS
* UWF turned in its best defensive performance of the season on Thursday, defeating Valdosta State, 69-39, on Thursday night. UWF held the Lady Blazers to season lows for points and field goal shooting at 21.2 percent. VSU managed to score just eight points in the first quarter and seven in the second for a season-low 15 at the half.
* The Argonauts entered the game fourth in the country in 3-point field goal defense, limiting opponents to 26 percent shooting. On Thursday, the Lady Blazers were just 1-of-22 and missed their final 21 attempts.
* UWF, meanwhile, shot right at its season average with a 46 percent effort. The Argonauts were 14-of-15 at the free throw line and outrebounded VSU 47-37.
* Toni Brewer led the team with offensively with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
Halee Nieman battled foul trouble to finished with 17 on 7-of-11 from the floor.
Anna Hall had 15 points, a game-high 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
WIN STREAK REACHES 12
* The Argos have won a school-record 12-consecutive games. The 2005-06 team previously held the mark when it won 10-in-a-row from Dec. 16-Jan. 23 on its way to a 23-7 record. Additionally, the current stretch of 12 wins over GSC opponents bettered the previous mark of nine held by the 2005-06 squad.
BREWER BECOMES THE PROGRAM'S WINNINGEST PLAYER
* With the win over Mississippi College last Saturday,
Toni Brewer has been part of 85 wins over her four years of competition, moving her into first place all-time at UWF now with 86 under her belt.
Belle Bistrow moved into second on the list at 85 wins following THursday's win over Valdosta State.
Katie Bobos (2013-17) and Kearstin Howald (1997-2001) are tied for fourth with 84 wins during their careers.
ARGOS RANKED NO. 19 NATIONALLY AND NO. 3 IN NCAA SOUTH REGION
* As a result of the current win streak, the Argonauts have caught the eye of the national pollsters. UWF moved into No. 19 nationally in the D2 Sports Information Directors of America Women's Basketball Media Poll on Tuesday.
* The first edition of the NCAA Division 2 Basketball Regional Rankings were announced on Wednesday and the Argonauts are listed at No. 3, behind Union and Florida Southern. These rankings help the NCAA D2 national committee determine the field for the regional tournaments.
BREWER UP TO 18 DOUBLE-DOUBLES

Toni Brewer had two more double-doubles last week against the Mississippi schools, moving her season total to a GSC-leading 18. That is also second in the country. She now has 54 career double-doubles which is second among active Division 2 players.

Anna Hall has made an immediate impact as a transfer point guard, lranking fourth nationally with 7.2 assists per game. She also leads the country and is fourth among all women's players at any division with three triple-doubles. She also has four double-doubles, including a 15-point, 12-rebound performance on Thursday against Valdosta State.
BISTROW MAKING IT RAIN IN HER FINAL SEASON
* Throughout her career,
Belle Bistrow has been known as a strong 3-point shooter. But in her senior season she has come on strong and leads the GSC in all three long-range shooting categories: 3-point pct at .425; 3-pointers per game at 3.0; & total 3-pointers with 77.
* The Jacksonville, Fla. native also ranks among the NCAA D2 leaders: 8th in 3-pointers made; 13th in 3-pointers per game and 15th in 3-point percentage.
* She is also one of the top perimeter defenders in the GSC who routinely draws the opponent's best outside threat on defense. She also ranks second in the GSC and is 26th in the country in minutes played at 35.7.

* Shyan Flack is averaging just over 14 points per game in her last six outings. She has scored a career-high 25 and 18 in the last two games against CBU and UAH, respectively.
