No. 8 Women’s Tennis is on a Four Match Winning Streak

Argos sweep the weekend to improve to 4-0 in GSC play

ROME, GA.-  The No.8 UWF Women's Tennis defeated the Shorter Hawks 7-0 at Walt Attaway Tennis Complex in Rome, GA.

In doubles the women swept all three games 6-0. In singles, UWF tried some ladies in different spots and still won 6-0. We had a order of finish of (2, 3, 1, 4, 5, 6). No.29 Karoline Silwanowicz play at one and won 6-2, 6-3.

Jennifer Rink played at two and Gabriela Araujo played at three, but both of their matches ended in defauts. At No.4 singles was played by Valeria Mantilla who had the highest scoring match up of 7-5, 6-0 and came out on top.

Heather Mixon played five and won 6-1, 6-0. Isabella Calves played six and won both 6-0.

This win was the UWF Women's teams 100th convective win against GSC opponents going on a nine year stretch of not losing to a conference opponent. 

The team finished up their weekend of traveling 3-0 with wins over AUM, Lee and Shorter. The Argos next match will be a week from today on March 3, 2019 at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex against West Alabama.
