UWF AGAINST THE FIELD
*Â UWF is 6-2 all-time against Eckerd. The Argos defeated the Tritons, 66-62, in the 2016-17 season-opener in Valdosta, Ga.
* POSSIBLE SEMIFINAL OPPONENTS: UWF is 3-0 all-time against Nova Southeastern, having defeated the Sharks in Dec. 2004, Dec. 2006 and two years ago in the NCAA Regional Quarterfinal ... the Argonauts are 4-11 against GSC rival Union. The Bulldogs won the only regular-season meeting, 81-62, in Pensacola in December and won the only NCAA postseason contest, 75-66, in the 2015 NCAA South Region Semifinal in Jackson, Tenn.
* POSSIBLE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME OPPONENTS: UWF is 5-10 against Florida Southern (2-5 in Lakeland) with the last meeting coming in 2011-12 ... The Argos are 4-8 against Lee after winning the lone 2018-19 matchup, 76-70, in Cleveland, Tenn. on Dec. 17 ... The Argos are 3-4 against Tampa and has never faced Lane.

* The program has averaged 20.8 wins per season in the last six years.
*Â The 2018-19 team is currently on pace to set school records for field goal percentage (45.2) and 3-point field goal percentage (35.9). The Argos are also one of the tougher defensive units in the country, ranking second nationally in 3-point field goal defense and defensive rebounds. UWF is 35th in overall field goal defense and 40th in scoring defense.
* UWF has out-rebounded its opponents by an average of 43.5-32.2 this season & ranks third nationally in rebound margin (11.1) and first in defensive boards (32.0). The Argos have outrebounded their opponents in 24 of 28 games and had a plus-10 margin 16 times.
* The Argos have 14 victories by double figures and an average margin of victory of 17.6 points per game.
WIN STREAK REACHEDÂ 13
* The Argos won a school-record 13-consecutive games to close the regular-season. The 2005-06 team previously held the mark when it won 10-in-a-row from Dec. 16-Jan. 23 on its way to a 23-7 record. Additionally, the stretch of 13 wins over GSC opponents bettered the previous mark of nine held by the 2005-06 squad.
* The winning streak was tied for the eighth-longest in Division 2 women's basketball at the time of its conclusion.
REBOUNDING CONTINUES TO BE A STRONG POINT FOR UWF
* Over the past four seasons, the Argonauts have always been a strong rebounding team. This year is no different as UWF ranks first in Division 2 with 32.0 defensive rebounds per game and is third with an 11.2 rebound margin.
* The Argos have finished the year no lower than 22nd in rebound margin over the past five seasons.
BREWER NAMED GSC POY;Â BREWER & NIEMANÂ NAMED ALL-REGION & ALL-CONFERENCE
* UWF senior Toni Brewer was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year, while Halee Nieman joined her on the First Team all-conference squad.
* Brewer averages 18.0 points and 11.1 rebounds per game and 20 double doubles. She ranks second in the NCAA in double-doubles and is shooting 48.6 percent from the floor. The Huntsville, Ala. native is UWF's career rebounds leader with 1,176 and ranks second in scoring with 1,652 points.
* This is the senior's third all-region selection and her second time on the first team. Her all-GSC honors were her third all-conference selection and her second time on the first team. She was also the Freshman of the Year and second team choice in the 2014-15 season.
* This marks the seventh time an Argonaut has won the top honor from the league and the second time in the last three years after Alex Coyne in 2016-17. Brewer joins former greats Tanisha Ruckman – twice, LaKeisha Little, Erin Vierling, Michelle Gibson and Coyne as POY recipients.
*Â Nieman has teamed with Brewer to form one of the strongest front lines in the country. She averages 17.9 points per contest and is the only player in the Gulf South Conference to score in double figures in every game this season. She is second in the league and fourth in the South Region with a 52.8 field goal percentage. The senior from Midland, Mich. has nine games with at least 20 points and two 30-plus point performances.
* Nieman was a second team selection by the coaches last season. As a freshman at Saginaw Valley State, she was the 2015-16 GLIAC Freshman of the Year.
YELTON IN SEVENTH YEAR AT UWF, NAMED GSC COACH OF THE YEAR
* Stephanie Lawrence Yelton is in her seventh season at UWF, bringing a 131-75 record into the NCAA South Regional ... She is 188-159 in her 12th year as a college head coach, which includes a 57-84 mark in at Charleston Southern from 2001-06 ... She is a 1996 North Carolina graduate who was the school's all-time leader in every 3-point category at the end of her career.
* Yelton was named the GSC Coach of the Year in 2018-19. This is the second time she has been voted the GSC Coach of the Year. She collected the honor in 2013-14 – her second season in Pensacola. It is the sixth time for a UWF mentor to earn the top coaching award, with Yelton joining Megan Henry and Shannan Bergen as two-time winners.

Toni Brewer had a dominating performance against West Georgia in the GSC Tournament with 26 points and 17 rebounds, moving her season total to a GSC-leading 20. That is also second in the country. She now has 56 career double-doubles which is second among active Division 2 players.

* The Jacksonville, Fla. native ranks among the NCAA D2 leaders: 24th in 3-pointers made; 20th in 3-pointers per game and 16th in 3-point percentage.
