PENSACOLA, Fla.- Â The No. 8 UWF Women's Tennis team lost to the No. 6 Columbus State Cougars 4-1 at home.
The Argos are now 6-6 overall and 4-1 in the GSC. The women still have three more matches before another conference match-up.
Doubles play was taken over by the Tigers with a quick win at No. 3 Â with Valeria Mantilla and Jennifer Rink losing 6-2, followed by Gabriela Araujo and Isabella Calves losing at No. 2, 6-4, and having CSU clinch doubles. Berta Bonardi and Diana Vlad's match was left unfinished.
In singles, No. 18 Noa Davico defeated Diana Vlad 6-0, 6-3 followed by another loss at No. 2 with Valeria Mantilla losing  6-1, 6-0. Down 3-0, Jennifer Rink gave the Argos some hope winning her match against No. 10 Luise Sachs 6-4, 6-4. The final loss came from No. 46 Candice Paya winning against Gabriela Araujo 6-4, 6-4. No. 1 and No. 6 matches were left unfinished.
Up next for the women is Northeastern and Georgia College tomorrow at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
