PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 14 UWF Women's Tennis team comes out on top in double header against West Georgia and Delta State.

UWF v. UWG (7-0)

In doubles, West Florida jumped to the lead with a clean sweep of doubles in a one, two, and three order of finish.  Berta Bonardi and Diana Vlad defeated Timia Commodore and Sofia Soltis 6-0 and Valeria Mantilla and Jennifer Rink won against Shelby Brown and Meg Cummings 6-2 clinching doubles. Isabella Calves and Heather Mixon also finished winning against Jamie Bryant and Bailey McCammon 6-2.

With the lead 1-0, the Argos pushed forward to win all of the singles matches. Nationally ranked No. 1 Bonardi left Timia Commodore scoreless as she was the first to win 6-0, 6-0. Following her was Mixon winning 6-2, 6-0 and clinching the match for the Argos was Isabella Calves with her win over Jamie Bryant 6-0, 6-2.

Overall the No. 4 Argos won 7-0 over the Wolves.

UWF v. DSU (6-1)

In doubles, West Florida took the wins in all spot with a finish just like UWG of one, two and three. At number one, Bonardi and Vlad won against Fabiola Cardenas and Nathalia Sato 6-1 followed by Gabriela Araujo and Karolina Silwanowicz defeating Beth Owen and Nathalia Stelzer 6-1.

The Argos final match was a close match where Isabella Calves and Valeria Mantilla outlasted Sophie St. Amant and Katheryne Valencia and won 7-5.

With a clean sweep of doubles, the Argos went into singles fired up. No. 1 Bonardi finished her match first winning 6-1, 6-1 followed by Isabella Calves taking a loss to Sophie St. Amant 6-2, 6-3 and giving Delta their only point of the match.

Next to finish was Jennifer Rink with her win over Nathalia Sato 6-2, 6-4 and the clinching match was at the number four spot where Heather Mixon defeated Nathalia Stelzer 6-1, 6-1.The Argonauts are now 15-7 on the season and 8-1 in the GSC.
