UWF Heads To Georgia Looking To Add To Win Streak

ABOUT UWF
* After splitting a pair of home games last week, UWF returns to the road looking to build off Saturday's win with contests at Shorter on Thursday and West Georgia on Saturday.
* UWF picked up its first Gulf South Conference win against the Lady Choctaws, 63-59, on Saturday to improve to 5-11 overall and 1-7 in the league.
* UWF has a plus-7.1 rebound margin which ranks fifth in the GSC. The squad has outrebounded 10 opponents and six of its last seven. The Argos have also grabbed at least 50 boards in seven games.
* Junior Danielle Norquest leads the team with 14.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. She ranks 13th in the GSC in scoring and second in rebounds. She also ranks in the top 20 in FG pct and FT pct. She continues to lead the country in double-doubles with 12. She has posted a double-double in 10 of the last 11 games and has had the feat accomplished by halftime in six games.
* Sophomore Charlotte Ellmore is second on the team in scoring and leads the squad with 3.6 assists per game. Senior Faithe Franklin ranks third at UWF in scoring, second in assists and third in rebounds.
* Sophomore Rachel McCree leads the team with 21 3-pointers made, including 15 in the last seven games. She is averaging 9.8 points per game in the last six outings.

SCOUTING SHORTER
* Shorter comes into the game with an 0-12 record and has lost their last 35 games dating back to the middle of the 2018-19 season. The Lady Hawks are 0-7 in the GSC.
* The Lady hawks average 62.3 points per game and allow 83.1 ppg. They rank 13th in the league in rebounding offense and defense, and 12th in turnovers per game at 20.4. They shoot 35 percent as a team.
* Jasmine Gaines leads the team and is second in the GSC with 20.5 points per game. Tatum Ragsdale posts 11.6 ppg and both players are tied for the lead with 6,8 rebounds per contest.

UWF-SHORTER SERIES HISTORY
* UWF is 10-5 against Shorter since the school moved to NCAA Division 2 status in 2013. The Argos have won the last six in the series and 10-2 in the last 12 after the Hawks won the first three matchups. UWF is 5-2 at the Winthrop-King Centre and has won five-consecutive.

SCOUTING WEST GEORGIA
* West Georgia enters Thursday's game against Valdosta State having dropped two-consecutive games (to Delta State and Lee) to move its record to 10-4 overall and 3-3 in the GSC.
* Edley Drawhorn and Taylor Brown lead the team in scoring with both averaging 13.6 points per game. Drawhorn has a 16.7 ppg mark in six GSC contests. Ashley Lee averages 13.1 ppg and  8.7 rebounds per contest. She had her sixth double-double of the season against Lee with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

UWF-UWG SERIES HISTORY
* UWF is 16-15 all-time against UWG, which includes a 6-8 mark in Carrollton. UWF won 76-69 a year ago at the UWG Coliseum, snapping a 4-game losing streak in the building.
