ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 9-8 overall and 6-4 in Gulf South Conference play following their 67-53 road victory over West Georgia. UWF is currently on a 4-game winning streak. The team is 9-0 when scoring 64 points or more and 0-8 when failing to reach that number.
* Jon Brown leads the team in scoring (19.9 ppg), rebounding (7.0 rpg) and steals (16 total).
* Cameron Cox paces the squad in assists (3.5 apg) totaling for 59 while only turning the ball over 21 times. The junior had just one turnover in 74 minutes last week in the Shorter/West Georgia swing. During the 4-game winning streak, he has 19 assists and just three turnovers - a 6.3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is currently tied for third in the GSC with a 2.8-1 ratio.
* Tarik McKelphin is second on the team in scoring (9.3 ppg) and second on the team in rebounding (4.8 rpg). Daniel Sofield is the Argos leading 3-point shooter making 40 total threes while shooting 38 percent from behind the arc.
* UWF is 6-2 at home this season and 37-11 in the last four seasons.

* UWF controlled the game last week at West Georgia with a 67-53 victory.
* UWF Improved to 3-4 on the road as they shot 45 pct. & went 12-14 from the free throw line.
* The Argo defense played one of its most complete games in holding West Georgia to 35 percent shooting which was the third-lowest by any opponent against UWF this season.
* Jon Brown lead the team with 18 points and nine rebounds. Tarik McKelphin had 15 points while also grabbing nine boards. Daniel Sofield had 13 points and a team-high six assists.
ABOUT AUBURN MONTGOMERY
* AUM is 8-9 overall and 3-6 in league play following a 74-71 win over Montevallo on Saturday. The Warhawks trailed 41-12 and came back to win the game. AUM shoots 44 percent from the field and averages 7.4 made 3-pointers per game.
* Darrion Taylor leads the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and assists (3.6 apg). Carlos Bell is second in scoring (14.1 ppg) and assists (2.7 apg). Maharrith Jackson is third in scoring (11.7 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.5 rpg).
UWF-AUM SERIES HISTOR
* The Argos are 6-1 overall against the Warhawks, including a 2-1 mark at the UWF Field House. UWF won both matchups against AUM last year.
MARDI GRAS GAMES ON SATURDAY
* UWF will open the Mardi Gras activities this weekend with a pair of festive-themed games against West Alabama, beginning with the women's game at 4 p.m. and the men's to follow. King Cakes, multi-colored beads and spectator contests will happen during both games.
UWF TO HOST FREE YOUTH CLINIC FOR NATIONAL GIRLS & WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY
* The UWF Athletic Department will host a free youth clinic for girls 8th grade and under on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Noon in the HLS Recreation Center on the UWF campus. This free youth clinic is being conducted in collaboration with National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
* Participants will start the day with a proper warm up and stretch from UWF cross country team. Then the girls will rotate between stations of volleyball, tennis, golf, cross country and soccer. At each station they will receive instruction from each women's sports team and play games with the UWF student-athletes.
* All participants and their families will also receive free admission to the women's and men's basketball games against Shorter beginning at 2 pm and 4 pm that afternoon. During the women's basketball game, UWF will recognize the women's tennis and volleyball teams for their most recent Gulf South Conference Championships.
