UWF will hit the final stretch of eight regular-season games on Thursday with a road contest at Auburn Montgomery at the AUM Gymnasium. Their remaining schedule has four road games and four home games.
Thursday's game against AUM is set to begin at 6 p.m.
ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 5-15 overall and 1-11 in Gulf South Conference play following their recent loss to West Alabama.
* Danielle Norquest leads the team in scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (12.2 rpg). Charlotte Ellmore is second on the team in scoring (10.1 ppg) and leads the team in assists (3.6 apg)
* Rachel McCree is the leading 3-point shooter on the team with 35 total made threes and is third on the team in scoring (7.9 ppg). McCree is coming off a career-high in points as she scored 20 against West Alabama. Faith Franklin is second on the team in rebounding (6.2) and assists (3.1).
LAST TIME OUT
* UWF fell to West Georgia, 76-62, on the road Saturday. UWF shot 38 percent from the field and outrebounded the Wolves 47-39.
* Charlotte Ellmore was the leading scorer for UWF with 17 points while also having three assists. Danielle Norquest had a double-double with 11 points and a team-high 16 rebounds. Faithe Franklin had 11 rebounds from her point guard spot to go with a team-high six assists and seven points.
ABOUT AUBURN MONTGOMERY
* AUM is 10-9 and 3-8 overall in the Gulf South Conference play following their 77-51 defeat to Valdosta State.
* AUM has three players averaging over 12 points per game that includes Catlin Carter (12.5 ppg), Victoria Morales (12.4 ppg) and Jordan Brewster (12.2 ppg). Morales also leads them in rebounding (8.6 rpg) and assists with 42 overall.
UWF-AUM SERIES HISTORY
* UWF is 5-1 all-time against AUM. The Argonauts are 3-0 on the road when going up against the Warhawks.
LAST WEEK'S UWF-AUM GAME IN PENSACOLA
* UWF had four players score in double figures but Auburn Montgomery made nine 3-pointers to create enough distance before holding off a late rally and defeating the Argonauts, 63-61, at the UWF Field House last Thursday.
* UWF trailed by 11 midway through the fourth quarter and battled back to within two points twice, including with six seconds remaining but Rachel McCree's long shot at the buzzer was just short.
* Danielle Norquest led UWF with 17 points and 13 rebounds for her NCAA-leading 15th double-double. Rachel McCree had three 3-pointers to end her night with 15 points. Charlotte Ellmore and Faithe Franklin had 10 points each.
* UWF shot 39 percent with a 41 percent effort in the second half. AUM got 21 points from Catlin Carter and 14 from Jordan Brewster, who made two big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter..
UWF TO HOST FREE YOUTH CLINIC FOR NATIONAL GIRLS & WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY
* The UWF Athletic Department will host a free youth clinic for girls 8th grade and under on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Noon in the HLS Recreation Center on the UWF campus. This free youth clinic is being conducted in collaboration with National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
* Participants will start the day with a proper warm up and stretch from UWF cross country team. Then the girls will rotate between stations of volleyball, tennis, golf, cross country and soccer. At each station they will receive instruction from each women's sports team and play games with the UWF student-athletes.
* All participants and their families will also receive free admission to the women's and men's basketball games against Shorter beginning at 2 pm and 4 pm that afternoon. During the women's basketball game, UWF will recognize the women's tennis and volleyball teams for their most recent Gulf South Conference Championships.
