VALDOSTA, Ga.- Bouncing back from a 4-0 loss the day prior, the seventh ranked UWF Women's Tennis team rolled to a 4-1 victory on Monday afternoon at the Valdosta State University Complex in Valdosta, Georgia.
The Argos started the day off right sweeping the doubles portion, leaving the third match to be unfinished.
A mix of newcomers and returners lead the way for West Florida.Â

Lais Bicca defeated their opponents in the #3 6-3 while returners
Karolina Silwanowicz and
Gabriela Araujo secured the #2 doubles match with another 6-3 finish.
Silwanowicz and the senior Araujo look to build off last season's 6-4 record in the #2 doubles spot.
The singles were a bit more of a mixed bag for the Argos as they went 3-2.Â
Berta Bonardi, the number one ranked player in the ITA pre-season poll, dominated her match against Flor Salerno, by a final of 6-3, 6-1 in the #1 spot. Â

Lucie Lesecq secured the victory for UWF with wins in the four and five spots in the line-up. Lesecq, a newcomer from France, provided the Argonauts with breathing room as she won 6-0, 6-4 after Araujo opened the singles portion with a 6-1, 6-0 throttling of the competion.
The girls will get a good amount of time off before facing West Alabama on Friday, February 14th. The match between the Argos and Tigers will begin at 1pm.
