ABOUT UWF
* UWF welcomes No. 9 Valdosta State to the UWF Field House in the regular-season finale.
* UWF is 14-12 overall and are in sixth place in the Gulf South Conference at 11-8.
* UWF can clinch fifth place with a win and losses by BOTH Union (at CBU) and AUM (at UWG). The Argonauts will open GSC Tournament play on Tuesday with a road contest against an opponent to be determined on Saturday.
* The Argonauts have won their last two and four of their last five. After starting the season 1-5, UWF is 13-7 in its last 20 games.
* The Argos are 13th in the GSC in scoring with 65.0 points per game but second in scoring defense, allowing just 65.3 ppg. UWF leads the GSC in 3-point FG defense, allowing the opposition to make just 30.2 percent of their shots.
Jon Brown has scored in double figures in 19 of his 23 games this season. He is third in the GSC with 17.7 ppg. He has done a lot of his damage at the free-throw line, where he is first in free throws made (127) and attempted (169), and is 12th in FT pct. (75.1). He also leads the team and is 13th in the GSC in rebounding at 6.4 rpg. In the team's only game last week, Brown finished with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-4 from downtown to lead UWF to a come-from-behind win over Montevallo. He had 15 points in the second half, scoring 13 during a 22-5 run that saw UWF take a 64-57 lead with 4:30 remaining. Also had 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Cameron Cox leads the team in assists with 3.8 apg and  is third in the GSC in assist/turnover ratio (2.6).
Tarik Mckelphin is second on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg). Daniel Sofield is the Argos' leading 3-point shooter with 50 made triples, while Brett Carter Jr. has made 43.5% of his 3-pointers, which ranks third in the GSC.
* UWF is 10-3 at home this season and 41-12 in the last four seasons.

ABOUT VALDOSTA STATE
* The Blazers are 22-3 on the year and lead the GSC with a 16-2 record while winning their last 15 games. VSU is ranked No. 9 nationally and No. 3 in the South Region rankings. They have a chance to win or share their fourth-straight regular season title this week. No GSC team has won four-straight league regular season titles when the conference hasn't been split into divisions.  
* VSU head coach Mike Helfer is 299-140 (.681) in 15 seasons at VSU.
* Clay Guillozet earned GSC Player of the Week honors for the third time this week, as he averaged a team-high 17.5 points per game, while pulling down 7.5 rebounds in wins over Montevallo and West Alabama. He is one of five Blazers scoring in double figures.
* Darrell Jones leads the team at 15.8 ppg, followed by Guillozet at 15.7 ppg and Bryce Smith at 14.8 ppg.

UWF-VSU SERIES HISTORY
* The Blazers lead the all-time series 24-9 and have won the last three and 11 of 14.  The Blazers are 8-6 all-time in Pensacola, winning five of their last six there, including last season in an 85-69 win on Feb. 21, 2019.
* Earlier this season, the VSU claimed an 88-53 win on Jan. 2 in Valdosta.
