Series wraps tomorrow at 1 pm

BOX SCORE

PENSACOLA, Fla. –
The University of West Florida baseball team was defeated by Nova Southeastern 8-1 on Monday Night. UWF's record is now 9-7 overall, while NSU improved to 9-9.

First pitch for the midweek series finale on Tuesday has been moved to 1 pm, due to bad weather in the forecast.

The defense was the Achilles' heel for the Argonauts, as four UWF errors led to four unearned runs for the Sharks in the contest. Nova Southeastern scored four runs in the top of the second, due in part to two errors committed by the Argos. The Sharks added another run in the top of the fourth, making their lead 5-0.

NSU extended their lead to 8-0 in the top of the fifth inning after the Sharks hit a three-run homer to left field.

Jack Copley got the Argos their first hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. Copley then came home to score after Justin Dunnam singled to center field, making the score 8-1.

Sean Means was the starter tonight, as he pitched five innings giving up eight runs with four of them being earned. Josh Pahlad came in relief for Means in the top of the sixth and pitched four innings without giving up a run while striking out five and not issuing a walk.

Sean Means was charged with the loss and his record now stands at 1-1 and Nova Southeastern's Matt Ornelas gets his first win on the season as his record improves to 1-1.

The Argos will play Nova Southeastern again on Tuesday at 1 pm.
