PENSACOLA, Fla. – In sweeping fashion yet again, the University of West Florida Volleyball team picked up another victory on Saturday afternoon taking down West Alabama in straight sets.
Now with wins in their past 12 matches, the Argonauts improved their record to 17-1 on the season including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play.
Against the Tigers today, West Florida kept their strong offensive attack rolling picking up 44 kills on 39 assists over the three sets. It was
Veresia Yon and
Tyler Fezzey once again leading the charge offensively for the Argonauts each finishing the match with nine kills apiece.
Freshman
Avery Rodgers stepped up big in a closely contested third set finishing the match with five kills which is one shy of her career high on the season.
Defensively, the Argonauts were blocking with great efficiency on the afternoon finishing with 12 total blocks as a team. Yon was once again a force at the net finishing the match with seven blocks to lead the team.
Looking ahead to next week, West Florida will play just two matches including a road trip to Alabama Huntsville on Tuesday and another away contest at Montevallo on Saturday.
