Cleveland, Miss.-Â West Florida played one of their two matchups in Mississippi this afternoon against GSC opponent Delta State. The Argos beat The Statesmen in a close matchup, West Florida was able to hold their 2-1 lead and defeat The Statesmen.

The Argos got an early lead in the first half with a goal in the 32
nd minute.
Keegan Ancelin headed into the back of the net to give the Argos the lead 1-0. This is Ancelin's eighth goal of the season.

The West Florida roster is made up of many new faces like
Keegan Ancelin,
Jack Patching,
Kainan Dos Santos, and Sy Fontenot. These newcomers have been a huge factor in West Florida's success so far this season.

The Argo offense took over most of the first half with touches from
Keegan Ancelin,
Elijah Howe,
Bernardo Torres, and
Kainan Dos Santos.

Late in the first half, the Argos get another goal off a counterattack by
Kainan Dos Santos to double the Argo lead. This marks his 11
th goal of the season. In the first half, Dos Santos led the Argos with three shots. Â

The back half of the Argo defense was able to stop any Statesmen counterattacks. The Argos went into halftime with a 2-0 lead over The Statesmen.

In the second half, the Argos had many great shots in the 46
th and 56
th minute by Lucas Barankeiwicz and
Gabriel Arraes. Both shots were saved by The Statesmen goalkeeper Mattis Kloepper. Kloepper had three saves in the afternoon.

The Statesmen were able to score in the 65
th minute of play to cut the Argo lead to one. The Argos were able to clinch the win 2-1 to defeat The Statesmen.

This improves West Florida's record to 8-3-2 and 5-3-1 in the GSC.
