Box Score Clinton, Miss.- After an impressive defensive performance by the Argos, West Florida holds onto a 1-0 lead to defeat Mississippi College. West Florida improves to 9-3-2 overall and 6-3-1 in the Gulf South Conference heading into the last week of the regular season.
The Choctaws came out aggressive offensively with a shot in less than a minute in the first half by midfielder Guilherme Santos. UWF goalkeeper, AJ Evans was able to snag the save. Mississippi College had four shots in the first twelve minutes of play. Guilherme Santos had four shots total for the Choctaws.

th minute, West Florida's leading scorer
Kainan Dos Santos kicked the ball into the left corner of the net to give the Argos the lead 1-0. Dos Santos shot the ball way outside the box for an incredible goal.
The Argos only had two shots in the first half. The shots were taken by defender

Kainan Dos Santos. The Choctaw outshot the Argos with eight shots in the first half. AJ Evans was able to accumulate three saves to keep the Choctaws out of the net.
In the 44
th minute of play, the Choctaws had two corner kicks to try and tie the game. Novaes slides to take the ball away and starts an Argo counter attack. Novaes gets tripped up and gets the Argos a free kick with less than ten seconds in the half. West Florida ends up kicking the ball out of bounds to go into halftime.
Heading into the half, the Argos maintained the lead 1-0.
Dos Santos had three shots in the second half and four shots total to try and increase the Argo lead.
In the second half, the Choctaws had three corner kicks while the Argos had one. The backside of the Argos defense was able to hold the Choctaws to zero goals allowed.
The Choctaws had a total of eighteen shots to the Argos six shots. Goalkeeper AJ Evans had an incredible night with nine saves for the Argos. Evans had four saves in the last four minutes of the second half.
The Argos currently sit at fifth place in the Gulf South Conference standings and No. 9 in the NCAA Regional Rankings. Auburn Montgomery and Montevallo sit at first and second in the GSC.
