SENIOR WEEKEND FOR BROWN, NORQUEST
* Prior to Saturday's game, UWF will recognize two student-athletes who will be playing their final home games at the UWF Field House -
Gabby Brown and
Danielle Norquest.
* Brown came to UWF last summer and spent her senior season with the Argos. She has started all 16 games and averaged 8.0 points and 6.8 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game. The standout from nearby Fort Walton Beach has six double-figure games with a career-high 16 at Shorter three weeks ago. She played at Pearl River Community College as a freshman and sophomore before a junior campaign at East Tennessee State.
* Norquest has spent her entire career at UWF, leading the team in scoring and rebounding each of the last two seasons. She enters the AUM weekend with 849 points and 695 rebounds in 101 games. She currently ranks 5th all-time in rebounds at UWF. In 2019-20 she tied the school record with 21 double-doubles and is now third all-time with 28.
ABOUT THE ARGOS
* UWF is 8-8 on the year following a 2-2 record on a a recent 4-game road swing. After defeating AUM 70-46, the Argos dropped two close contests at Montevallo – 62-57 on Friday and 72-58 on Saturday, before completing the season sweep of West Georgia with an 82-60 win at the UWG Coliseum.
* Senior F
Danielle Norquest leads the team with 12.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and is second with 1.8 steals per game. She is also shooting 44 percent from the floor and 39 percent from outside, making 20-of-52 3-pointers. She leads the team with seven double-doubles, including in four of the last six contests. She enters the AUM weekend with 849 points and 695 rebounds in 101 games over four seasons at UWF.
* No Argonaut has been more consistent the second half of the season than junior G
Peyton Lewis. Over the last nine games, she has averaged 14.5 points – with all nine in double figures – and shot 48 pct. She has connected on 40 pct. from outside, making 22-of-55 3-pointers. She has established a career-high in scoring in each of the last three games and five times in the last nine.
* Junior G
Charlotte Ellmore is third on the squad with 9.8 ppg and is second with 25 3-pointers. She has made at least two triples in eight games and at least one in the 14 of the 16 contests.
* UWF is averaging 65.6 ppg as a team on 36.1 pct. shooting. They are allowing 67.2 ppg on 40 pct. shooting.

* Junior G
Peyton Lewis has continued to be a spark off the bench for the Argonauts over the past nine games.
* In the last nine games, the Hampton, Ga. native has averaged 13.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the floor. She posted back-to-back career-highs, scoring 15 points in the Friday Shorter game and 16 points the next afternoon, and has since eclipsed those numbers with 16 and 17 points at Montevallo last weekend and a career-best 18 at West Georgia on Tuesday.
* The Kennesaw State transfer has raised her scoring average from 4.0 points to 10.1 ppg in the last three weeks. She had totaled 18 points in seven games before scoring 134 in the last nine. THIRD QUARTER IS THE MAGIC QUARTER
* UWF is averaging 29.5 points in the first half and 36.1 points after halftime. The best quarter average for the Argos is the third, where they have outscored their opponents 19.1-17.8 on average. UWF is 5-2 on the year when they outscore their opponents in the 10 minutes immediately following halftime. Ironically, they didn't outscore UWG in the third of either game earlier this year but did hold 21-13 and 23-18 edges in the final stanza of both contests.
* UWF's top scoring quarters and halves this season are:

BUT ITS A 4-QUARTER GAME!
* UWF has played some complete team basketball lately. That play has results in two wins where the Argos outscored or tied their opponents in all four quarters of the game - at AUM and at West Georgia in the most recent 4-game road trip. They also did the same thing in the season opener against Shorter.

* On Tuesday night, UWF's first two made baskets were 3-pointers from the left wing. That set the tone for the night as they ended up tying the school record with 12 in the 82-60 win over UWG. That marked the second time this season they hit a dozen, equaling their performance in the home win over Lee.
* After three games this season, UWF had made just 18 3-pointers for 6.0 made per game. The squad has found its stroke in the last 13 contests, connecting on 104 for 8.0 per game, bringing its season average to 7.6 per game, ranking fourth in the GSC overall and second in the East Division behind Lee's 9.1.
* Last month against No. 18 Lee, UWF made 22 triples in the two contests, marking the most in consecutive games since at least the 1993-94 season.
