ABOUT THE CROSSOVER
The annual South Region Crossover volleyball event featuring teams from the Gulf South Conference (GSC) and Sunshine State Conference (SSC) will be held October 14-15. The GSC serves as host for the 2022 event, which will be played at the
Finley Center in Hoover, Ala.
Tickets for the event are available
online through ETIX. Fans will have two options:
Daily Pass ($10) or
Event Pass ($15). Children ages 5 and under are free. Parking at Finley Center will be
$5/daily per car.
NOTE: Effective October 3, 2022, all purchases (tickets and concessions) at the Finley Center will be cashless. The facility accepts all major credit cards as viable payment options. MORE INFORMATION
All matches will be streamed live through BallerTV with a
paid subscription. The event pass for the entire crossover is $39.99.
ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 17-4 overall and ranked 13th in the AVCA Division 2 Top 25. The Argonauts are 9-1 in league play and seeded first out of the GSC in the Crossover.
* UWF is 3-1 in 5-set matches this season. The Blue and Green has won nine of their 17 contests with a 3-0 margin and five at 3-1.
* The Argonauts rank 10t nationally with a .277 hitting pct. and 14th with 14.1 kills per set.
* The average 2.01 blocks per set and have a .181 opponent hitting pct.
* Senior
Taylor Vaneekeren averages 10.56 assists per set which places her 23rd in the country.

Jenna Zydlo (26th in NCAA) and
Camila Vazquez (27th in NCAA) are the team leaders on offense with identical .381 hitting percentages.
Avery Rodgers is hitting .311.
* At the net, Vazquez is fifth in the GSC with 0.86 blocks per set (64 total in 21 matches).
UWF LEADS GSC
* UWF opened GSC action with four wins before dropping a 3-2 road contest to Mississippi College. Since then, the Argos have won their last five matches.
UWF'S CROSSOVER HISTORY
* UWF is 18-19 in South Region Crossover play since the event began in 2010. The Argos have gone won three matches three times, most recently last year when they went 3-0 in Winter Garden, Fla.
ABOUT ECKERD
* Eckerd enters the weekend at 13-4 overall and 4-4 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Tritons are coming off a 3-2 win over then-No. 4 Tampa. Joelle Coulter leads the offense with 3.1 kills and 3.4 points per set. Setter Krysten Garrison averages 10.1 assist per set and hits .406 with 1.5 kills per set.
SERIES HISTORY
* UWF leads the series 9-5, with five of the last six meetings coming in the Crossover. The teams also met in the NCAA Regional in 2013 with a 3-2 Argo victory. The last meeting came in the 2017 Crossover at the Finley Center with Eckerd claiming a 3-1 win.
ABOUT NOVA SOUTHEASTERN
* NSU is 11-5 on the season and 5-4 in SSC action. The Sharks won a pair of 5-setters last weekend to snap a 3-match losing skid that followed a 3-2 win over then-No. 1 Tampa.
SERIES HISTORY
* The Argonauts lead the series 4-1 with the last two meetings coming at the Crossovers in 2016 and 2021. The Argos have won the last three matchups.
ABOUT #17 BARRY
* Barry comes to the Finley Center at 15-1 overall and 8-1 in the SSC. The Bucs opened the year with 11-consecutive wins before a 3-0 setback to Lynn. Since that match, they have won their last four, with matches against Eckerd and Tampa postponed due to Hurricane Ian. The Bucs are hitting .286 on the season with 2.54 blocks per set (7th in NCAA) as both figures lead the SSC.
SERIES HISTORY
* The Bucs hold a 3-1 lead in the series with three of the four contests coming at the Crossovers in 2013, 2015 and 2019. Barry won a postseason game, 3-1, in Boca Raton at the 2019 NCAA South Regional in the last meeting.
AFTER THE CROSSOVER
* UWF will return to GSC play with a road weekend at Union (Friday, Oct. 21) and Christian Brothers (Saturday, Oct. 22), followed by a midweek contest at Montevallo (Tuesday, Oct. 25).
* They will return home for their final three regular-season matches, hosting Mississippi College (Oct. 28), West Alabama (Oct. 29) and Auburn Montgomery (Nov. 4).
