TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's cross country team put together another strong performance on Friday morning, placing 17th in a stacked field at the FSU XC Invite in Tallahassee. The Argonauts were tightly packed at the top of the lineup, as usual, and finished ahead of Valdosta State, and Division I programs Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M, among others.
The team's total time on Friday morning was less than five minutes behind its time at the UNA Invitational in September, when the team showed out with a fourth-place finish.
Chloe Rook and
Julia Alvarez Drago led the Argonauts again, finishing at 18:57.9 and 19:08.0, respectively.
Sophia Spalding was very close behind, at 19:16.8.
Skylar Grant (19:49.2) and
Leah Fenton (19:51.7) were the next pair of Argonauts to cross, before
Julianne Dennison at 21:14.5 and
Kristen Bouington at 21:48.6.
Avery Miller (22:55.9),
Roe Guzzetta (24:47.1), and
Tatum Salter (25:05.6) rounded out the Argo lineup.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will wrap up the regular season on October 22, with the UAH Charger Invite in Huntsville, Alabama.
