PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The UWF women's basketball team will play the final two games of its 4-game road trip this weekend, beginning Friday evening at Columbus State. The Argonauts will return to GSC play on Sunday afternoon at West Georgia.
ABOUT UWF
* UWF is 2-3 on the season following Monday's 63-39 road win over Delta State.
* The Argos are averaging 59.4 points on 34 percent shooting. The team shot just 13 percent in the opener against No. 11 Eckerd but has made 40 percent in the four games since, which has seen the team pick up it's two victories and drop an overtime decision to Lee and a 4-point loss at Mississippi College which had a venue change 30 minutes prior to tip-off due to a leak over the court.
* UWF has averaged six made 3-pointers in the last four games, shooting a season-high 43.8 percent on 7-of-16 at DSU on Monday. Graduate transfer
Haylee Luttrell paces the team with 11 3-pointers and is eighth in the GSC at 43.2 shooting from outside.
LUTTRELL SCORES 1,000TH POINT, JARNOT SITTING ON 999

Haylee Luttrell surpassed the 1,000-point plateau for her career earlier this season and now has 1,032 in five seasons of college ball. She scored 363 in four years (93 games) at North Greenville and 44 in five games at UWF. She also has 101 career 3-pointers made, with at least 20 in all four season at NGU and 11-for-26 (.423) in Pensacola.

Jaclyn Jarnot comes into the game with Columbus State at 999 career points. She scored 491 in three seasons at North Dakota and has 508 in 30 games at UWF. She also is approaching some big rebound milestones, bringing down 798 in her career thus far.
TAYLOR LEADS GSC, RANKS 36TH IN NCAA IN ASSIST-TO-TURNOVER RATIO

Moriah Taylor has done a solid job stepping into the point guard spot at UWF since transferring from Georgia State in the offseason. The Hartselle, Ala. native has 15 assists and just four turnovers in 115 minutes this season. She is also second on the team with six steals.
42ND SEASON OF UWF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
* UWF enters the weekend with 609 all-time wins dating back 40-plus years to the inaugural season of 1981-82. The Argonauts are 609-529 all-time with six NCAA Tournament appearances, one Elite Eight, four GSC Regular-Season Championships and one GSC tourney title in 19 appearances.
* In 29 seasons of NCAA/GSC membership, the program is 433-336 for a .564 winning pct., ranking fifth among current members and third among those that have been in the league for at least 10 seasons.

YELTON IN SEASON 11 AT UWF, CHASING SCHOOL COACHING RECORD

Stephanie Lawrence Yelton is in her 11th season at UWF and has a 170-117 record with the Argos … She is 227-201 in her 16th season as a head coach, which includes five seasons at Charleston Southern … The Morrow, Ga. native (suburb south of Atlanta) is a UNC grad from 1996 and was a 4-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels, where she won two ACC Championships and the 1994 NCAA National Championship – she threw the inbounds pass on Charlotte Smith's game-winning buzzer beater in the 1994 title game.
* Yelton was named the GSC Coach of the Year in 2013-14 and 2018-19.
* She is 2-2 against Columbus State and 14-10Â against West Georgia.
* Yelton ranks third in the UWF coaching list with her 170Â wins. Shannan Bergen won 183 games in 13 seasons from 1999-2012 and the program's first coach, Kathy Davis, collected 175 victories from 1981-94.

UWF PICKED 4TH IN GSC COACHES POLL, JARNOT NAMED PRESEASON ALL-GSC
* UWF was picked to finish fourth in the GSC Preseason Coaches Poll … UWF earned 107 poll points and was behind Union, Lee and Valdosta State in the top three spots, respectively. That trio earned 12 of the 13 first place votes. The remaining vote went to Alabama Huntsville despite being picked tenth by the consensus. Christian Brothers, Mississippi College and West Alabama were the remaining ones in the upper half, followed in order by Delta State, Montevallo, UAH, West Georgia, Auburn Montgomery and Shorter.

Jaclyn Jarnot was named to the 5-member preseason all-GSC squad. She returns for her final go-around as an Argonaut following a First Team All-GSC and All-Region season a year ago. In 2021-22, the Brooklyn Park, Minnesota native averaged 17.4 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, while recording 18 double-doubles in 25 games. Her rebounding avg. and double-double totals were each fifth nationally in Division 2.

ABOUT COLUMBUS STATE
* CSU is 4-1 in 2022-23 and has won it's last four contests after dropping the opener to Chowan during the crossover weekend.
* The Cougars are making 39 percent of their shots but are using their press and pressure defense to force 26.6 turnovers per game, which they have converted into 23 points per game. They are 26th nationally with 12.4 steals per game.
* Four players are averaging over 9.0 points per game, led by sophomore guard Emilia Tenbrock at 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds. Sophomore guard Olonna Rawls add 10.8 ppg and 6.2 rpg.
* Matt Houser is in his fourth season as the CSU head coach and has a 43-29 record.
* Former UWF standout
Charlotte Ellmore is in her first season as a graduate assistant on Houser's staff. In three seasons at UWF, the Essex, England native had 701 points, 219 rebounds, 284 assists (5th in UWF history), and 62 steals in 74 games. She started every game at UWF and averaged at least 9.1 points all three seasons.
SERIES HISTORY WITH CSU
* UWF is 4-3 in seven previous games against CSU. In the back-and-forth series, the Argos are 3-2 at home and 1-1 at CSU's Lumpkin Center.
* This is the fifth-consecutive full season the schools have met. They did not play during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 campaign.

Zoe Piller combined for 39 points on 14-of-21 shooting and 31 rebounds. Both players had double-doubles as well – Jarnot with game highs of 24 and 16, and Piller with 15 and 15 on 7-of-11 shooting.
ABOUT WEST GEORGIA
*Â UWG is 3-4 and has dropped it's last two games to Union and Valdosta State. The Wolves three wins came against Montevallo, Clark Atlanta and Christian Brothers following a pair of opening weekend setbacks to Rollins and Tampa.
* The Wolves are shooting 37.9 percent on the season and are 3-0 when they shoot 40 percent or better and 0-3 when they are below the 40 percent mark.
* Freshman forward Aliyah Washington leads the team with 9.4 points per game, with junior guard Stephanie Torres posting 9.0 ppg with three double-figure scoring contests.
* Joanna Reitz is in her first season as the UWG head coach. This is her first head coaching position after five seasons at Utah with previous coaching stints at USC-Aiken (assistant coach – 2015-17), Mercer (assistant coach – 2013-15), Shorter (assistant coach – 2011-13) and as the Director of Recruiting Operations at Florida State (2010-11). She spent three additional seasons with the Seminoles as a graduate assistant from 2007-2010.Â
