JACKSON, Tenn. – UWF women's basketball standout
Jaclyn Jarnot was named Second Team All-South Region on Thursday in an announcement by the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).
Jarnot averaged 17.4 points and 13.0 rebounds per game while compiling 18 double-doubles. She shot 45 percent from the floor and made 40 3-pointers – the second-most by a UWF forward in the last 10 seasons.
The 6-foot-1 forward from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota was voted First Team All-Conference by the Gulf South Conference coaches and ended the year with 11 20-plus point performances. She led the team in scoring 12 times and rebounding 21 times while appearing in 25 contests.
Jarnot's career totals include 925 points and 737 rebounds in 105 games. She played her first three seasons at North Dakota before transferring to UWF last fall. She has one year of eligibility remaining.
This marks the 10th time an Argonaut has been named All-Region and the sixth time in the last seven years.
UWF went 18-9 and finished fourth in the GSC at 13-6 after being picked eighth. The Argos will return the majority of this season's team, including leading scorer's Jarnot and
Zoe Piller.
