West Florida will head to Columbus State on Wednesday and Montevallo over the weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of West Florida softball team was ranked 16th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, released on Tuesday morning.
 
West Florida is 18-7 overall and 12-3 in the Gulf South Conference, good for second in the league.
 
UWF is one of the more well-rounded teams in the conference, ranking second in ERA (2.63), third in slugging percentage (.477), second in strikeouts (153), and first in opponent batting average (.205).
 
The Argonauts were one of three GSC teams in the poll, along with No. 4 Valdosta State and No. 11 Auburn Montgomery. Other South Region teams in the poll include No. 6 Tampa and No. 23 Embry-Riddle.
 
UWF will visit Columbus State for a midweek doubleheader and will travel to Montevallo for a GSC series on Saturday and Sunday.
