PENSACOLA, Fla. –
Gianna Guerriero continues to cement the legacy of her historic senior season, as the GSC Co-Player of the Year can now add All-American to her list of honors.
The Hainesport, New Jersey native was named a D2CCA All-American Thursday morning, shortly after being named NFCA Second Team All-American late last night. The honor is selected by a panel of representatives from all eight softball regions across the country for NFCA. Guerriero earned both selections for the outfielder position.
Guerriero earns the first NFCA All-America honor for UWF Softball since
Teala Howard 2022. She is also the first Argo to earn a D2CCA First Team All-America selection.
In addition to being named GSC Co-Player of the Year and D2CCA/NFCA All-American, Guerriero was also named NFCA and D2CCA All South Region and to the GSC All-Tournament Team. She also won the GSC Golden Glove award, given to the conference's best defensive player.
Guerriero finishes her two-year career at West Florida with the third-highest career batting average (.435) in program history. She led the GSC in batting average (.442), hits (87), triples (9) and stolen bases (40-43). She was second in runs (58) and sixth in OPS 1.042.
