No. 6 Men's Tennis Sweeps Austin Peay in Double Header

The Argos improve to 6-2

PENSACOLA, Fla.- For their second match of the day, the Argonauts defeat Division I Austin Peay 5-0 at home to improve their record to 6-2 on the season.

Starting doubles, West Florida swept all three position. Facundo Bermejo and LLuis Miralles Miro teamed up and won their match 7-5 from the No. 1 position. Salvador Bandeira and his partner Albin Ekenros defeated the Governors 6-4 in the No. 2 position.

To finish off the doubles matches, Pedro Cordeiro and Bernardo Costa dominated their match from the No. 3 position, winning 6-1.
In singles, Facundo Bermejo continued to carry the momentum for the Argonauts winning his match 6-1, 6-4 from the No. 1 position. As a leader for West Florida, Juan Cabrera won his match 6-0, 6-3 from the No. 2 position. From the No. 3 position, Bandeira added to the Argos points, winning his match 6-3, 7-6.

At the bottom of the lineup, Miro won his match 6-1, 6-4 from the No. 4 position. The last two singles matches went unfinished due to the Argonauts securing the victory.

West Florida will play two more matches at home this week including St. Mary's and Georgia College.

Up Next: The Argonauts will face St. Mary's back at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m.
