Box Score PENSACOLA, Fla.- The No. 12 Argonauts fell short in their second game of the double header to Division I Austin Peay 0-6. West Florida sits at 2-5 on the season.

Earlier in the day, West Florida defeated Grand Valley 5-2 with impressive performances by Sara Yigin and Irene Recuenco to improve their record to 2-4. This gave the Argonauts momentum heading into their second match of the day.

Starting with doubles, the Argonauts put up an excellent effort but ultimately fell from all three positions. The match had to be temporarily postponed due to weather delays.

Nathalia Mossambani and Giuliana Sacco dropped an intense match 4-6 from the No. 1 position.

Sara Yigin and Mayumi Suguchi fought hard, but fell 2-6 from the No. 2 position. Irene Recuenco and Raissa Wagner battled back and forth with the Governors, but came up short, falling 4-6 from the No. 3 position.

In singles, Sara Yigin came in as the No. 1 position, but dropped her match 0-6. Irene Recuenco couldn't get the momentum going for the Argos in the No. 2 position. She fell short 0-6, 0-6. From the No. 3 position, Nathalia Mossambini battled back and forth, but couldn't muster up enough to get the final point.

Saguchi, Wagner, and Silwanowicz fell from all three remaining positions.

West Florida will play two more matches this week at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. The Argonauts will be back in action to face GSC opponent Lee on Thursday, March 10 at 10 a.m.
