Wolter Earns 500th Career Victory in Win Over Spring Hill

The fifth-ranked Argos will face eight-ranked Central Missouri on Saturday

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The UWF women's volleyball team won a pair of matches on Friday, defeating Spring Hill in five sets and Lees-McRae in three. The win over the Badgers marked the 500th career victory for head coach Melissa Wolter.

UWF improved to 3-0 on the year. Wolter is in her 20th season at UWF and 23rd overall, compiling a 501-198 career record.

SPRING HILL RECAP (25-10, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 15-11)
Facing off against the Badgers and legendary head coach Peggy Martin, UWF got out to a 2-0 lead before being pushed to the limit by the closest team to UWF geographically. The Argos hit .302 in the contest, which included  over .400 in each of the first two sets.

The Argos were led by a balanced attack as Avery Rodgers had 17 kills, with Camila Vazquez adding 12 and Jacque Martin putting down 10. The defense had 12 blocks and got double-digit digs from Taylor Vaneekeren (15), Meg Brackhan (15) and Ana Oro (10).

LEE'S-MCRAE RECAP (25-4, 25-5, 25-13)
The Argos came out and never took their foot off the gas against the Bobcats, hitting .478 which is the eighth-highest in program history. UWF held the visitors to minus-.136.

Jenna Zydlow led the team with eight kills, while Alex Oliver and Martin had seven apiece.

UWF will close out the Springhill Suites Invitational on Saturday with a contest against No. 8 Central Missouri.
