Pensacola, Fla - The UWF Men's Soccer Team is traveling to Mobile, Alabama to face Spring Hill tomorrow at 3pm. This matchup will be the only matchup for the Argos this weekend before they are back at home for senior day and wrapping up regular season conference play.
About UWF
The Argos currently hold a record of 7-1-3 and sit at #4 in GSC standings. The team is currently outscoring their opponents 30-8 with an average of 2.73 goals per game. The goalkeepers sit at a total of 49 saves on the season. Leading the Argos in points in fifth-year Sy Fontenot, who has tallied 16 points so far this season. The Florida native put up two goals last weekend versus union and has been a vital attacking piece for his team. Jack Patching also continues to be a driving force for this Argo offense as well. Patching has tallied five goals and four assists so far this season, putting him at 14 points.
With a strong front line also comes a strong back line. Center backs Austin Marshick and Eduardo Pampolini have kept the Argo backline solid throughout the season. Both players, including outside back Fynn Geigle, have registered multiple 90 minute matches and continue to keep the backline strong.
About Spring Hill
The Spring Hill badgers are led by second year Head Coach Chris Leonardi. The Badgers are 4-9-2 on the season. Leading the way for Spring Hill is freshman forward Carper Quinn. Quinn currently holds 12 points on the season with five goals and two assists. The freshman has come into this team and been a key piece for the Badger offense. Brew Stow of Spring Hill currently has seven points so far this season with three goals and one assist.
The History
The Argos are currently 19-3 against the Badgers. In their last matchup during the 2022 season, UWF defeated the SPC 2-0 with goals coming from Keegan Lynch in the 62nd minute, and Finn Werner in the 90th minute of the match. The Argos outshot the Badgers 12-9 during the match and were able to come home with the win.
