Blackmon Uplifts Argos in Win Over AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- No. 21 University of West Florida took a 1-0 win on the road against Auburn Montgomery Sunday afternoon. The Argos improve to 9-1-1 overall, 6-1 GSC.
 
UWF was uplifted by defender, Kendall Blackmon, who hit the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute of the match.
 
The Argos outshot the Warhawks (3-8-1 overall, 2-5-1 GSC) 7-0 in the first half. Just minutes before the conclusion of the first 45 minutes of play, Blackmon hit the lone goal of the game. It was the only shot by Pensacola, Florida native.
 
Overall, Emilie Dueck Doerkesen led the team with three shots and two fell on target.
 
The defensive line stayed strong and held the Warhawks to one shot.
 
Maciah Lipsey earned her fourth shutout and eighth win in the net. Her four shutouts on the season is tied for most in the conference with two additional GSC keepers.
 
The Argos will pick back up conference contests at home, on Friday, Oct. 13 against Christian Brothers.
