Argos Host Chowan on Salute To Service Day

John Jiles is 2 yards away from breaking the single-season receiving record

• Today's event is our Salute To Service game and Senior Day. The College of the Game is the College of Business.

ABOUT UWF
• UWF rebounded from the loss to Valdosta State two weeks ago with a dominating 42-14 road win over Mississippi College last week.
• The Argos lead the GSC and rank 13th in the country in total defense, allowing just 262 yards and 16.1 points per game.
• On offense, UWF averages 31.9 points and 438 yards per game, including tallying at least 28 points in all four home games thus far.
• UWF ranks 23rd in the country in average attendance, with 4,474 fans per game. With a seating capacity of 4,000 at Pen Air Field, UWF's 111 pct capacity mark is fifth in the country.

JILES ON THE CUSP OF BREAKING UWF SINGLE-SEASON RECEIVING MARK
• Senior transfer John Jiles enters the game with 1,127 yards receiving to rank second in the UWF record book. He is one yard behind David Durden's mark os 1,128 set last season.
• Jiles is already the single-season TD holder with 15, surpassing the 12 by Ka'Ron Ashley in 2021 and Quentin Randolph in 2019.

ABOUT CHOWAN
• Chowan comes to town with an 0-9 record and winless in seven previous GSC contests. Last week's 14-6 loss to West Alabama was the closest final margin for the Hawks this season.
• The Hawks average 16 points per game on 283.8 yards of total offense. On defense, CU is giving up 37.8 points and 364.7 yards to it's opponents.
• QB Rashad McKee has passes for 1,911 yards (212.3 per game) and completed 54 percent of his throws with 10 TD and 12 interceptions.

SERIES HISTORY WITH THE HAWKS
• UWF and Chowan are meeting for the third time today. The teams split their home-and-home series in 2016 and 2017. The Hawks claimed a 35-28 decision in the Argos' third-ever game, while UWF repaid the favor a year late with a 51-23 win at Blue Wahoos Stadium in 2017.

UWF HONORS 16 SENIORS TODAY
• The UWF football program will recognize 16 student-athletes who are playing their final regular-season home game at Pen Air Field today.
• Additionally, the Argo Marching Band and UWF Cheerleaders will mention their senior members at halftime.

WHAT'S NEXT
• The NCAA Division II Football Championship selection show will air on ncaa.com at 5 p.m. Sunday evening.
• The first round of games will be on Saturday, Nov. 18 with games starting at either Noon or 1 p.m. local time.
