UWF returns only five players from a season ago, welcoming in 10 newcomers, eight transfers and two freshmen, for 2023-24.  Tautvydas Kupstas, a transfer from Division III Skidmore College, was chosen as a newcomer to watch by the GSC.  Kupstas, a native of Lithuania, was named a back-to-back All-Liberty League performer along with a D3Hoops.com All-Region selection after leading the team in points per contest, total points and minutes per game.

Scouting Clark Atlanta: CAU is led by Head Coach, Alfred Jordan who is looking to build off an 8-20 overall mark a year ago.  Jalen Williams, a junior from Dallas, Texas, was named to the SIAC All-Conference Preseason First Team, after averaging 15 points per game on 40 percent shooting while grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game in 2022-23. Forwards, Xavier Griffith and Dez'Mond Perkins combined for 33 points on Monday night as the Panthers took down Division I opponent, Mercer, in an exhibition contest.

Scouting Fort Valley State: The Wildcats are led by Head Coach, Montez Robinson, who is in his third season at the helm of Fort Valley State.  FVS went 14-15 in 2022-23 and return SIAC Preseason Defensive Player of The Year, Jamal Reynolds.  Last season, Reynolds tallied 62 steals, 2.14 per game, and grabbed 104 total rebounds, 3.6 per contest.  He had four games with at least four steals or more.

Myson Lowe, a guard from Atlanta, Georgia, also returns after averaging 11.9 points per game and leading the team in three-point field goals made, total assists and free-throw percentage.

Series History: UWF is 2-0 all-time against Clark Atlanta, winning 98-67 in 2022, along with a 88-79 decision against the Panthers.  Against the Wildcats, West Florida is 5-2 all-time, with a two-game winning streak against FVS.  Additionally, the Argonauts earned a three-game winning streak, the longest by either in the series, from 2016-2018.  The 19-point win over Fort Valley State in 2018 was the largest margin of victory in the series.
