MOBILE, Ala. --- The University of West Florida (9-4 overall, 1-2 GSC) picked up a non-conference win at Spring Hill. The Argos pounded out 11 runs on 12 hits in an 11-8 victory. 
 
Jack Bellah got the win, tossing 1.2 innings in his first start of the season. 
 
The Argos scored three runs in the first inning. Trent Jeffcoat led off with a triple. Darrien McDowell drove Jeffcoat in with a single. Dean Hotz capped the scoring with a two RBI double. 
 
UWF had six runs on four hits in the second inning. Hotz hit his first career homerun. The three-run shot to left field gave the Argos a 9-0 lead.

Hotz went 3-4 on the night with five RBI.

The Badgers (5-7 overall, 4-2 SIAC) came back with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
 
Spring Hill put up a single run in the fifth and seventh, cutting the Argos lead to 9-6.
 
The Argos put the game away in the eighth. Jeffcoat was hit by pitch. McDowell drove him in with an RBI double. Jadon Fryman drove in McDowell to extend the lead to 11-6. 

The Badgers added two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
 
Chase Wilkerson got his second save of the season pitching a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth.
 
The Argos return to home Jim Spooner Field to host Delta State for a Gulf South Conference matchup this weekend. The three-game series will take place on Friday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 4  at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
