PENSACOLA, Fla.- The No. 8 West Florida Men's Tennis Team dominated at their home courts on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated UWA 5-2. The Argos improve to 6-1 while the Tigers fall to 7-3 on the season.
 "It was great to finally be at home. Today's match was a good one on both sides. The men took care of business and got the win. The guys played really good in doubles, and then got the job done in singles, " said head coach
Derrick Racine.
The Argos got back into the swing of things with a win in two of the three doubles matches.
Albin Ekenros and
Adam Svensson won their match 6-3 as the No. 3 pair.
Tomas Descarrega and
Facundo Bermejo were victorious as the No. 1 pair 6-4 as they took down Lucas Hammond and Marcel Hornung.
Joaquin Estevez and
Sebastian Rondon ultimately fell in their match 6-2 against Illia Dehodiuk and IIari Vesanen from the No. 2 position.
West Florida continued their momentum in singles as they won four out of the six singles matches.
Santiago Kearney won in two sets 6-2, 7-5 as the No. 3. Bermejo claimed the victory in his match from the No. 2 position 6-1, 6-0 and Descarrega won his match due to an injury from the other opponent as the No. 1.
Bernardo Costa and Estevez dropped their matches from the No. 4 and No. 5 position. Costa fell 6-4, 6-3 while Estevez fell 6-3, 3-6, 10-12, respectively.
Sebastian Rondon captured the win from the No. 6 position with a win 7-6, 6-0.
Up Next: The Argos will return to action to face No. 3 Saint Leo on Sunday, March 12.
