Donor Spotlight: Pati Gandolfo

Pati Gondolfo is no stranger to UWF. She was a student-athlete, coach, and newly inducted UWF Hall of Fame member. Gandolfo spent two seasons at UWF, helping the program build on the early success under head coach Melissa Wolter. Gandolfo made an impact in both years she was in Pensacola, earning two First Team All-GSC awards, four All-South Region honors, and was a Third Team AVCA All-America choice in 2009. She was a dominant force at the net in the GSC and was the tournament's Most Outstanding Player in 2009. Gandolfo hit .312 in her career to rank fourth in UWF history and was the highest ever for a 2-year player until this past season. She compiled 244 total blocks to rank fourth at UWF at the time of her graduation. She now coaches volleyball at Pensacola State College. We are thankful for Pati's Argo Pride.

Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
I will forever be an Argo at heart. I didn't just graduate from UWF, I also had the best volleyball experience (on the court or as a coach), while working on my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I want the current student-athletes to have the same great experience I had when I was at UWF, and I know that it does cost money (most of the time).

Why do you continue to give annually?
For the same reasons, I started donating money. I had a great experience at UWF and I want to help provide these same experiences to the current and future Argos.

What would you say is the best thing about being a donor to UWF athletics?
I can see the impact that we have on student-athletes. Knowing that donating money will help provide opportunities for the teams to compete against the best programs in the country is no easy feat, and it costs money.

What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
Watching every sport be incredibly successful is very inspiring, as a former employee, alum, and fan!

What is a proud moment being an Argo fan or an experience you really enjoyed?
I can't truly narrow down many years of experience into one moment. I absolutely loved being a volleyball player, then I was blessed to work with Melissa as her assistant coach for 9 years. Every year presents its challenges and memories, I wouldn't trade my UWF experience for the world.
