VALDOSTA, Ga. --- The University of West Florida baseball team got their 30
th win of the season after taking Friday night's game on the road over Valdosta State. The Argos improve to 30-14 overall, 20-8 GSC to take the sole number one spot in the conference.

Josh Prizina went 2-for-4 and got two RBI to lead the team. Three Argo players hit 2-for-5 to contribute to the team's 12 total hits.

Tyler Dowdy stepped on the field in the fifth inning. He got the win in 2.1 innings pitched.
Salvatore Ferro closed the game and got the save. He threw three strikeouts in 2.0 innings.

UWF took a 3-0 lead in the second inning off a Prizina two RBI single, followed by a
Trent Jeffcoat RBI single to cap the scoring.

The Blazers shortened the gap, 3-2, in the bottom half of the second.

Preston Moore was walked and was driven in on a
Jadon Fryman at bat to extend the lead 4-2.

The Argos continued to hammer in runs in the following inning.
True Fontenot open the fourth inning with a single.
Darrien McDowell drove in Fontenot off a single down the middle. The third off of the inning was by
Mike Scordo that extended the Argo lead, 6-2.

Valdosta State scored a run in the fifth and eighth frame to finish with a 6-4 score.

The Argos and Blazers will finish out the regular season on Saturday, April 29 with an 11:00 a.m. doubleheader. Game time has been pushed up avoid potential rain.
