PENSACOLA, Fla.- The No. 7 seed West Florida women's tennis team hits the road for Davie, Fla. to face No. 2 seed and host Nova Southeastern on Monday morning for the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament. The contest is slated for 9:00 a.m. (CST)/ 10:00 a.m. (EST) at the NSU Tennis Complex in Rolling Hills.
The winner of this match will play the winner in the match with No. 6 Auburn Montgomery and No. 3 Saint Leo for the NCAA Regional Championship.
ABOUT UWF
The Argos are 14-9 overall and 7-3 in conference play on the year after making it to the Gulf South Conference Championship. UWF would end up falling to No. 1 seed West Alabama 4-0 in the championship match.

nd debut with head coach
Derrick Racine.
Three athletes were named to the All-GSC First and Second Teams.
Mayumi Saguchi earned First Team All-GSC while
Carlota Verdu and
Aline Midori Da Silva received Second Team honors. Midori Da Silva was named GSC Freshman of the Year as she is the fifth player in program history to receive this award. The freshman from Sao Paulo, Brazil leads the Argos in singles wins with 15 and she is 8-1 in the last ten matches she has played.
Midori Da Silva and Verdu partner up as the No. 1 doubles pair with a 12-6 record.
Nathalia Mossambani and
Luiza Daud are 9-2 from the No. 2 position in doubles. Saguchi and
Guadalupe Martinez round out the No. 3 doubles team with a 9-4 record as a pair.
The Argos rank No. 23 in the nation as they enter into Monday's matchup.
SCOUTING THE SHARKS
Nova Southeastern earned the No. 2 bid to host the preliminary round of the NCAA Tournament. The Sharks rank No. 2 in the nation behind No. 1 Barry with a 21-3 overall record.
This is the Shark's second consecutive year hosting NCAA South Regional Tournament. Last season, NSU advanced to the NCAA Final Four which marked their first time in program history.
Standout Julie Razafindranaly was named 2022 Sunshine State Conference Athlete of the Year and earned First Team honors in the SSC. Â She ranks among the best in the nation with a No. 10 in the ITA singles ranking and holds a 13-7 record.
Her teammate Natalie Espinal earned First Team All-SSC as well in singles and ranks No. 14 in the country with an 18-3 singles record. Espinal and her teammate Fatima Bizhukova are ranked the No. 1 doubles team in the nation with only one loss on the season. The pair is 19-1 entering the NCAA Tournament.
UWF VS. NSU HISTORY
The Argos fell to Nova Southeastern earlier in the season on March 1, 5-2. Martinez and Daud secured wins from the bottom half of the lineup, but it was not enough to upend the Sharks. UWF holds the overall series record 3-2.
