PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 12 ranked UWF defeated No. 15 Montevallo 3-0 in an elimination game in the NCAA South Regional #2 at Jim Spooner Field on Saturday afternoon.
UWF (39-16) advances in the tournament and will face Barry on Saturday afternoon. The Argonauts will need to defeat the Bucs on Saturday to force a deciding game on Sunday.
Kade Mandersheid (7-1) worked six innings and held the Falcons to four hits and no runs with three strikeouts and three walks.
Dilan Lawson picked up his first save with three innings of no-hit relief with four strikeouts.
UWF had 11 hits with doubles from
Mike Scordo and
True Fontenot.
After a solid five scoreless innings on both sides, Scordo led off the home half of the sixth by hammering a double down the third base line. After

Chris Johnson to third,
Jadon Fryman slipped a liner under Matt Simon's glove in a drawn-in infield to put the Argos up 1-0. Fryman moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on
Josh Prizina's single to left. Prizina plated the third run of the inning when he scored on Jeffcoat bloop single to left.
UM (39-16) finished with four hits but left nine runners on base.
