PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida women's soccer team took a 2-0 win over Lynn, Sunday afternoon at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium.
Led by
Isabela Labovic who scored both goals in the match, the Argos are 3-0-1 to conclude non-conference contests for the season.
UWF kept control throughout the first half but all shots fired could not fall through. Labovic entered the game in the 42
nd minute. After entering, a corner was awarded for the Argos.
Charline Favier placed the ball towards the back post and Labovic sacrificed her body to score her first goal of the season.
In less than 10 minutes, Labovic extended UWF's lead to 2-0. The Argos set up for a free kick just outside the 18 yard box for
Manami Okada to take. Okada's kick ricocheted off Lynn's keeper and Labovic easily put it back in for her second goal of the game and the season.
The Argos outshot the Fighting Knights 22-3. UWF held Lynn to just one shot on goal.
Okada and
Mya Swinton led the squad with four shots apiece.
The Argos head back on the road Friday, Sept. 15 to open conference play at Mississippi College and Delta State.
