PENSACOLA, Fla - The Argonauts continue their five-game away series this weekend as they open GSC play versus Mississippi College and Delta State University. UWF will travel to Clinton, Mississippi to play against both teams this upcoming weekend. The Argos will face Mississippi College on Friday, September 15th at 3:30pm CT, and Delta State on Sunday at 3:30pm CT. 

About Mississippi College

Going into their first GSC match, the Argos have a slight upper hand after defeating the Choctaws 2-0 with both goals coming from Kainan Dos Santos. Dos Santos scored both goals in the second half to give the Argos the win. UWF currently stands at 4-4-1 against the Choctaws with a current win streak of two games to none. 

MC has brought in freshman, Denis O. John, who was named the GSC Freshman of the week for this past week. O. John recorded three goals and an assist last week. Against Eckerd, the freshman tallied two goals and three shots in just 43:00 minutes of play. In their win against Ouachita Baptist, O. John scored a goal and registered an assist in their win. 

About Delta State

In the last matchup between the Argos and Statesman, UWF was able to come with a 4-0 win. Goals were scored by Kainan Dos Santos, Keegan Ancelin, and two goals by Josiah Fontenot. All four goals came in the second half of the match, with Dos Santos's goal coming just three minutes into the second 45. In their past 18 matchups, the Argos have won 15 of the 18 with a current win streak of 5 games. 

Delta State holds strong players including Arturo Riestra, a junior forward who was just named the GSC player of the week. Riestra recorded two assists and two goals last week for the Statesman, and has been a key role for their team this year.
