Walk-On's UWF Invitational

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Argonauts return to the UWF Field House for their third tournament of the season, the second annual Walk-On's UWF Invitational. West Florida is set to take on Charleston and Flagler on Friday at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, before competing against Lewis on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
No. 17 UWF enters the field with a 3-4 overall record, coming off a 1-3 week at the Colorado Premier Challenge with a win over Central Missouri and setbacks to No. 21 Cal State-LA, No. 3 Wayne State (Neb.) and No. 2 West Texas A&M. 
 
Bailee Sterling earned a spot on the all-tournament team for her performance across the four contests, totaling 42 kills, a .365 hitting percentage, 10 digs, 18 blocks and 51 total points. 
 
The Argos finished the first Walk-On's UWF Invitational 2-1, with wins over UNC Pembroke and Oklahoma Baptist and a loss to then-No. 17 Lewis. UWF has an all-time record of 3-4 against Lewis, having dropped the last three in the series, and is 3-0 and 2-0 all-time against Charleston and Flager, respectively. 
 
Each of this year's opponents reached the NCAA Tournament last season. Charleston went 33-5 and 15-1 in conference play before falling to Wheeling in the Mountain East Conference Championship and No. 1 seed Gannon in the Atlantic Region Semifinal. Flagler finished with a 20-10 record, winning the Peach Belt Conference Tournament before losing to Wingate in the Southeast Region Championship. Lastly, Lewis had a 22-9 2022 season and won the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament but lost to Hillsdale (Mich.) in the opening round of the Midwest Regional.
