PENSACOLA, Fla - The UWF Swimming and Diving team partnered with the Pensacola Ronald McDonald house during Fishters week. The athletes created Taylor Swift inspired stretchy friendship bracelets with uplifting words for sick children at the Ronald McDonald House of Pensacola.
Coach Barbara Parker spoke on the matter saying, "As part of our community outreach, the Swimmers and Divers of UWF wanted to provide something uplifting for those children that might need a positive word to get through their day. Inspired by the Taylor Swift "Epic" friendship bracelets, we hope that these encouraging words will be a source of strength and comfort to the families and children during a difficult time." The swimming and diving team is making great efforts to leave a positive impact on the children and families in the Pensacola community.
The Taylor Swift friendship bracelets have become some of the most fun and creative parts of the Taylor Swift concerts and her fan base. Fans of the international superstar create up to hundreds of bracelets to pass, trade, and share with other "Swifties" during the concert. Taylor Swift herself even receives these friendship bracelets herself. Swift also has many popular faces attend her concerts such as Selena Gomez and NFL superstar Travis Kelce, who also love to participate in this fun activity. The bracelets have become such a fun and friendly way to connect so many different individuals. The UWF athletes hope to do the same with the children and families in Pensacola.
The UWF Swimming and Diving team kicks off their season this month on Friday, September 29th, as they face Loyola-La.,Thomas & South Georgia State at 5pm. For more information, visit goargos.com
