PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida women's soccer team heads down the road to Mobile, Ala. to battle with Spring Hill College in a conference game at Library Field on Friday, Sept. 22 at 3:00 p.m.

Argos on Fire
UWF remains undefeated at 5-0-1 overall with a 2-0 conference record. Following wins over Mississippi College and Delta State last weekend, the program has climbed to No. 4 in the United Soccer Coaches national rankings.

They defeated Mississippi College 3-1 and shut out Delta State, 4-0. Mississippi College was predicted to finish first in the GSC by the Preseason Coaches poll.
Manami Okada scored two goals over the Choctaws in under 20 minutes of the match.
Emma Beltz scored the insurance goals to ensure a win.

Versus Delta State,
Mya Swinton scored two goals and earned an assist to Beltz to quickly take a 3-0 edge. A fourth and final goal was scored in the 69
th minute.

This was the second shutout for
Maciah Lipsey and the Argos this season.

GSC Player of the Week
Swinton was named Conference Player of the Week following a two goal, two assist performance. She recorded a season-high points of five against Delta State after a two-goal, one assist performance.

The Florida native is fifth in the conference in goals (4) and assists (3) and tied for second in points (11).

About Spring Hill Badgers
The Badgers have improved tremendously when compared to last season. Spring Hill currently hold a 4-3 record whereas last season, they finished at 1-14-1.

They won four games in a row, including a win over conference opponent Delta State (Sept. 15), before falling 8-1 to Mississippi College.

Following the weekend conference opener, the Badgers are tied for fifth in the GSC with five other teams who have also earned three conference points. The team is led by midfielders Poppy Binding and Madison Hitzman who have tallied four goals each with Binding adding an assist to her name.

In seven games, the Badgers have scored 22 goals and have held their opponents to 13. They have reached 38 of 56 shots on goal for a .679 shot on goal percentage.

Their largest win was an 11-0 victory over Point (Sept. 10). Three players combined for almost half of the goals scored – they each made two goals apiece.

Seven Badgers have made six consecutive starts and leads the team with minutes (one game has not been credited into the system).

Goalkeeper Carlotta Stark has earned three wins so far. In the net, Stark has recorded 18 saves in 465 minutes on the pitch.

Since 2000, the Argos are 20-0 overall against the Badgers. The Argos have scored 102 total goals, averaging 5.1 goals per game.

Last season, the Argos came out on top with a 5-0 victory over Spring Hill. Returners Okada,
Kaytlyn Larsen and
Destiny Hird scored a goal each to contribute to three of the five goals scored.
