The No. 6/8 UWF football team will make the first of six road trips this season when they travel to Lebanon, Illinois to face McKendree on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff at Leemon Field is set for 1 p.m.
* The game will be broadcast on the GLVC Sports Network with a $10 subscription fee.
* The radio broadcast will start at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN Pensacola 1330 AM/99.1 FM with Will Kennedy and Brian Henry calling the action.
ROAD SUCCESS
* Without question, UWF has been the most successful road program in Division II over the past five seasons. UWF is 33-10 (.767) all-time on the road and 31-6 (.838) since 2017. The Argos had their school-record 16-game road win streak snapped at Ferris State in the national semifinals last season.
* The Argos have won last year's six road games by an average of 20.6 points, which include the 1-point win over Valdosta State.
* After a 2-4 road mark in the 2016 inaugural season, UWF has had a winning record away from home each year - 8-1, 4-2, 7-2, 6-0 and 6-1.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
* This week's 724-mile trip to McKendree marks the fourth-longest regular-season trip in program history.
* Only the 2016 trip to Chowan (850 miles), the 2018 trek to MSU Texas (820 miles) and last year's jaunt to Southwest Baptist (750 miles) have been longer in the regular season.

UWF UNBEATEN AGAINST GLVC PROGRAMS
* Saturday's game will mark the fifth against a Great Lakes Valley Conference school. UWF is 4-0 with two wins over both Missouri S&T and Southwest Baptist.
PEEWEE ON TARGET
* In last week's opener, senior QB
Peewee Jarrett completed 19-of-22 passes for 230 yards and a TD. He also rushed for a pair of scores.
* The bigger takeaway from the contest was the 189.2 passing efficiency mark which ranks 16th in the country. Jarrett's .864 completion percentage is first in Division II and fourth in all divisions.
* The .864 effort established a new school record, breaking his own mark from last year's regular-season game against Mississippi College where he was 9-for-11 for .818 pct.

RUNNING GAME STEADY AS EVER
* Even with the departure of UWF 's all-time leader
Shomari Mason, Kaleb Nobles and his staff added a solid group of rushers to go with retuning standout
CJ Wilson. Wilson has 12 TD while running for 540 yards on 84 carries a year ago for 6.3 yards per carry. Last week he had 39 yards on nine carries and a TD.
* Other backfield plays were shared with North Dakota State transfer Jaylen Bussey and Troy transfer
Jamontez Woods.
* Peewee jarret also continued to be a force with his large frame, scoring twice on five rushes, but one of those was a QB sack.
NEW LOOK DEFENSE LOOKS PRETTY GOOD
* The UWF defense switched to a 4-3 front for the first time in seven seasons, bringing a new look under first year defensive coordinator Kavell Conner. The Argos held Ketucky Wesleyan to 168 yards on 50 plays for 3.4 yards per play. The Panthers finished with just 10 first downs and eight on the ground.
* The front four was spotlighted by graduate transfer DL
John McMullen who led the team with six tackles, four for loss, two QB sacks and a forced fumble.
* Senior LB
Will Breland also had six stops and a QB hurry.
* The secondary was particularly effective, limiting KWC to 40 yards passing on 4-of-12. Transfer
Virgil Lemons had a spectacular leaping interception in the first quarter.
* The 40 yards allowed were the second fewest in the country, just behind UTPB's 38 passing yards allowed.
ARGOS RANKED SIXTH NATIONALLY; PICKED SECOND IN THE GSC
* Coming off a 12-2 season and a run to the national semifinals in 2022, UWF was slotted seventh in the AFCA Preseason Top 25 and eighth in the D2Football.com Preseason Poll.
* After last week's games, UWF moved up a spot in the coaches poll and stayed at No. 8 in the D2Football.com ranking.
* In the GSC preseason coaches poll, the league's eight coaches voted the Argonauts second behind Delta State. UWF earned two first place votes and 56 poll points, just behind DSU's 61 points and six votes for the top spot.
