TALLAHASSEE, Fla - The Argos traveled to the state's capital to compete against Division 1 programs Florida State and North Florida in a Friday Tr-Meet. After coming off of a close loss from North Florida just over a week ago, the Argos defeated the Ospreys, and fell to the Seminoles.
Swimming
200 Medley Relay
Gillian Gotaas,
Alena Rozova,
Emily O'Connell and
Sydney Lewis took third in the relay with a time of 1:46.36 to kick off the meet.Â
1000 Yard Free
Riley MacVane dominated the 1000-yard free, taking first with a time of 10:24.15, and earned an NCAA B-Cut time with her swim.
Tori Johnston came in third in the race with her time of 10:45.28.Â
100 Yard Back
Gillian Gotaas took third in the 100 back for the Argos as the junior swam a 58.18.
100 Yard Breast
Newcomer
Alena Rozova took third for the Argos in her race of the 100 breast with her time of 1:05.50 on the day.Â
200 Yard Fly
Freshman
Taylor Messerschmitt earned a big score of second place in the 200 fly as she swam a 2:07.96 to help add to the Argos score.
200 Yard Back
Staying strong,
Gillian Gotaas earned second for the Argos in her race of the 200 back with a final time of 2:06.90. Shannah DiIlman placed fourth in the race with a time of 2:08.19.
200 Yard Breast
Sophomore
Olivia Copland added to the Argos score as she placed third in the 200 breast with a final time of 2:24.81.
500 Yard Free
Riley MacVane placed second in the race for the afternoon as the sophomore swam a 5:03.74, just 0.0066 seconds shy of first place.
Sofia Kendzior was right there with MacVane, earning third in the race with her time of 5:06.06.Â
100 Yard Fly
Taylor Messerschmitt remained strong in her fly events as the freshman finished second in her race with a time of 56.88 for the afternoon.
400 Yard IM
Shannah Dillman placed fourth in the race with her time of 4:30.29 for the junior.
200 Free Relay
Alena Rozova,
Riley MacVane,
Emily O'Connell, and
Sydney Lewis finished out the meet, earning third in the relay with their combined time of 1:36.40.
Diving
1 Meter
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez qualified for NCAAs for the 2024-25 competition season as the junior placed third with her final score of 260.78.
3 MeterÂ
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez earned fifth in the lineup for the Argos with her final score of 250.13,
Olivia Nelson was sixth with a score of 239.40, and Gabby McDougall was seventh with a score of 189.00.

We are off to a good start, and I am glad our training is showing up in our racing. The ladies are preparing themselves well at the meets, and the performances are starting to reflect all that they put into their sport.
