The First 45
The Argos opened scoring early in the first half, as
Oskar Sewtz found the back of the net in the 4th minute of play. Jaime Guillen danced through the Badger defense and got a ball into the box, where Sewtz finished the job.Â
25 minutes later, the Argo defense continued their high pressure, and it paid off. After
Caue Novaes won the ball in the middle, the captain found
Marcus Pereira, who slotted the perfect ball to
Mar Aegisson. From inside the box, Aegisson buried the ball into the far right corner and pet the Argos up 2-0 with 15 minutes remaining in the half.Â
The Badgers found a late header in the 42nd minute to cut the Argo lead in half, but UWF went into the second half with the lead. The Argos logged five shots to Spring Hill's four in the first half and earned six corners in the first half.Â
The Second 45
Not quite finished with his scoring yet,
Mar Aegisson found the back of the net in the 54th minute. The Argos moved the ball across the top of the box, where eventually
Kendrick Hernandez found Aegisson, who notched his second goal of the afternoon to put the Argos up 3-1.
Ten minutes later,
Kendrick Hernandez was knocked from behind in the box, earning a penalty kick.
Marcus Pereira stepped up to the spot and converted the fourth goal of the game for the Argos.Â
Spring Hill earned a penalty kick of their own and converted, but it was not enough for the Badgers to come back.
What's Next
The Argos won 4-2 at the end of 90 minutes and advanced to the championship on Saturday, November 16th at noon. UWF will play the winner of Auburn Montgomery and Christian Brothers.Â
