LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The University of West Florida baseball team took the conference series opener over West Alabama on the road. The Argos extend their record to 8-2 overall, 1-0 GSC.

The Argos put up four straight runs through the first seven frames to come out victorious in a 4-2 final.

Darrien McDowell put the Argos on the board first in the third inning.
Trent Jeffcoat got the first hit of the inning with an outfield single. He quickly made his way to third with a failed pickoff attempt. This allowed McDowell's outfield single to bring Jeffcoat in for an easy run.

Fryman went 2-for-4 to lead the team.

Now at a 1-0 lead,
Mike Scordo extended the lead by three runs with a two RBI double.
Jadon Fryman led off the inning with a single, followed with a double by
Preston Moore. Both runners were brought in by Scordo's at bat.

Parker Tubb made his first appearance of the night by pinch running for Scordo. After a sacrifice bunt to bring Tubb to third base, he was able to make his way home off a wild pitch.

West Alabama closed the gap by scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth. Closing pitcher
Chase Wilkerson and the Argos held the Tigers off to get the win.

Dalton Neuschwander pitched a strong seven innings. He threw a season-high eight strikeouts in 26 batters faced. He allowed no runs on two hits.
Six batters tallied one hit a piece.

The Argos held the Tigers to three hits.

UWF and UWA will close the series with a doubleheader tomorrow (Feb. 24). Start time is set for 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Tartt Field.
