PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida took the series, 2-1, after a pair of non-conference wins at Jim Spooner Field. The Argos took the opening doubleheader, 14-10 in a thrilling fashion and took the finale, 2-0.

GAME 1
With the score set at 10-all in the bottom of the ninth,
Brett Rowell bombed a walk off grand slam to take the win, 14-10.

Eight totals runs were scored in the first inning. Florida Southern took a large 7-1 gap after the first.

The Argos came back and proceeded to score nine straight runs through the next three innings to take the lead, 10-7. Eight Argo runs were scored in the third inning alone.
Dom Presto hit a two RBI single and
Mark Townsend recorded an RBI.
Jadon Fryman and
Trent Jeffcoat earned a RBI off walks.

A Moc fielding error in the bottom of the fourth gave the Argos their 10
th run of the game.

The Mocs responded with three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game.

UWF had a close chance to take the lead in the seventh. Jeffcoat led off the inning with an infield single. He then stole second and advanced to third off a
Jackson Grabsky hit. In the next play, Jeffcoat attempted to steal home but got caught in a pickle for the third out.

Argos made a great play in the eighth to end the top half. Jaiden Warde for the Mocs hit an outfield single but Grabksy soared a throw from left field to get the runner out at second.

UWF quickly loaded the bases on two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Rowell made his first appearance of the game to pinch hit. On the first pitch, Rowell sailed the ball to right field for a walk-off grand slam.

Jacob Heath pitched the final inning and got the win.

Argos and Mocs tallied 11 hits apiece. Grabsky,
Darrien McDowell and
Riley Parker led with two hits each. Grabsky went 2-for-3 and scored three runs.

GAME 2
With momentum on the Argos side, they quickly took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Rowell entered in the starting lineup as a designated hitter for the second game of the doubleheader and got a two RBI outfield single.

The remainder of the game went scoreless but the Argos had a 4-3 edge on hits.

Kade Manderscheid got the win in six innings pitched. He allowed just three hits and threw four strikeouts. Heath was awarded the save.

The Argos are back in action at home for a three-day series against USC Aiken. The series opener will kickoff on Friday, Feb. 9 at 5:00 p.m.
