PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team grabbed two wins over USC Aiken in a home doubleheader matchup on Friday. The Argos increase their overall record to 4-1.
The two wins got the series win for UWF.

GAME 1
The team opened up the series with an 11-4 victory over the Pacers.

Trent Jeffcoat led off the game with a walk and was brought home off a two-run homer from
Darrien McDowell in his first at bat. This is McDowell's first home run of the season and 15
th in his UWF career.
Â
USC Aiken brought the score to a one-run game off a wild pitch.
Â
UWF went on a six-run inning off three hits in the fifth. Bases were quickly loaded for the Argos on one out.
Brett Rowell earned an RBI off a walk that sent a runner in.
Preston Moore followed up with an outfield single to extend the score to 4-1. With bases remained loaded,
Mark Townsend grounded out to shortstop but still earned an RBI that sent
Jackson Grabsky home. Grabsky and Moore went 2-for-4 to lead the team in hits.

Cade Easterbrook added to the UWF scoring with a three-run homer. This was the junior's first UWF career homerun.

The Pacers scored their second run off an RBI double in the top of the seventh.

The Argos responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Grabsky and Moore scored a run each off a wild pitch. The Argos then saw themselves with loaded bases. The 11
th and final Argo run was brought in off a walk. Jeffcoat earned the RBI.

The Pacers scored two runs in the ninth to bring the score, 11-4.
UWF had a slight 8-7 edge in hits.

Dalton Neuschwander got his first win of the season in 5.2 innings pitched. He threw four strikeouts and allowed three hits. He is now 1-1 on the mound.

GAME 2
Three walks and a balk allowed the bases to load in the opening inning of game two. Moore got an RBI off a walk to get an easy 1-0 lead.

The Pacers tied the game with an RBI outfield single.
Â
McDowell homered to left field for three RBI to extend the lead to 4-1. This was McDowell's second homerun of the day. McDowell went 1-for-3 and racked up three RBI.

Jeffcoat added a run to the board off an RBI single to bring the score to 5-1.

USC Aiken brought the score to a two-run game. Two runs were brought in by the Pacers off to a fielding error.

In the sixth inning, Moore kept the momentum going with a three RBI double.
Dom Presto saw his first at bat of the day and was walked. He later stole second during McDowell's at bat. Grabsky and Tubb followed with a walk. All three players were brought in by the Argos third baseman outfield hit to see an 8-3 score.

Moore led the team with four RBI.

The Pacers gained two extra runs in the final inning but was not enough.

Starting pitcher
Dilan Lawson got his first win in 4.1 innings pitched. He threw six strikeouts and is 1-0 on the season.
