PENSACOLA, Fla. - No. 9 UWF men's tennis (7-4) extended its winning streak to five matches with a dominant 6-1 win over Xavier (La.) (6-7), a regular contender in the NAIA national tournament, at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Albin Ekenros and
Joaquin Estevez won at No. 3 doubles 6-3 over Dedric Ray and Ivan Vasquez before
Denilso Martinez and
Sebastian Sotelo fell at No. 1 6-1 to Jacobi Bain and Nereo Suarez.
Sebastian Rondon and
Bernardo Costa clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Julius Hell and VanDer Woody.

The first four singles matches were all claimed by the Blue and Green to put the match out of reach.
Denilso Martinez won at No. 5 6-2, 6-3 over Artur Yakubov and
Mateo Martinez took No. 4 6-3, 6-1 over Vazquez. Estevez topped Ray at No. 6 6-4, 6-2 and Rondon, up to No. 38 in the nation in this week's ITA singles rankings, pulled a close win out of the fire 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 at No. 2. The Gold Rush then won their lone point of the day as Hell took down Costa 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 1, but it was inconsequential to the result. Sotelo, at No. 45 in the country and No. 4 in the South Region in singles, closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Woody.Â

Before their next road trip, the Argos stay home for another 1 pm match on Wednesday against Ouachita Baptist.  Â
