PENSACOLA, Fla. - No. 7 UWF men's tennis (14-4, 8-1 GSC) finished up conference and home play in style, taking 7-0 sweeps against Christian Brothers (8-9, 1-8 GSC) on Friday and Delta State (3-14, 2-7 GSC) on Saturday at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. With the latter win, the Argos clinched the GSC regular season title, their ninth in the last 12 full seasons, thanks to owning the tiebreaker via their recent wins over Valdosta State and Auburn Montgomery, currently tied for second. They also finish the regular season undefeated at home, their third straight season reaching that mark.

Sebastian Sotelo and
Tomas Leston began Friday with a 6-1 win over Juan Ycaza and Ignacio Mora.
Joaquin Estevez and
Denilso Martinez sealed the doubles point with their 6-2 result over Pedro Gomez and Benjamin Hanriot. In a much tighter matchup at the top of the lineup,
Albin Ekenros and
Mateo Martinez gave their team a perfect finish in doubles with a 7-6 (7-2) victory over Miguel Perez Habib and Jojo Sandoz.

Leston put his team up 2-0 at No. 4 singles as he easily dispatched Habib 6-0, 6-1 before Ekenros won by the same set scores over Mora at No. 2.
Mateo Martinez proceeded to take the No. 3 matchup 6-2, 6-0 against Hanriot as Sotelo took down Ycaza at the No. 1 position 6-2, 6-1. This contest would be one of two-set wins as
Denilso Martinez claimed his 6-3, 6-1 over Gomez before Estevez iced the sweep of the Bucs one court over with a 6-4, 6-1 final score over Sandoz.

It was another easy day at the office for the Argos on Saturday against the Statesmen. After getting a day to rest on Friday,
Sebastian Rondon and
Diego Duran got the early advantage for their team with a 6-0 sweep at court two over Jacob Lubbe and Tom Rance.
Denilso Martinez and Estevez followed with a 6-1 win at No. 3 against Goran Krivokapic and Harry Browning before Ekenros and
Mateo Martinez, for the second time in two days, polished off a doubles sweep at the top of the lineup as they defeated Emiliano Elizarraraz and Sebastian Hernandez 6-3.Â

It was more of the same from Friday in singles play, as all the matchups were completed in two sets. Duran continued the onslaught with a pair of 6-0 set wins over Lubbe, as did Estevez versus Hernandez. Rondon, now up to No. 13 in the ITA Singles Rankings, won handily at the top position 6-0, 6-1 against Elizarraraz.
Denilso Martinez won in two 6-2 sets at No. 5 against Krivokapic and
Mateo Martinez took a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 3 over Browning. At the No. 6 spot,
Jose Roa entered the lineup for the first time as an Argo, and the Mars Hill transfer answered the call with a sweep-clinching 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rance.

UWF has two more nonconference contests on tap in Georgia before it can turn its attention to the conference tournament, as it travels to Valdosta for a neutral-site match against Hawaii Pacific on Monday, April 15 at 10 am ET/9 am CT before going back to Columbus to make up its postponed match with Columbus State. Â
