Argos End in a Draw Against Montevallo

Box Score

PENSACOLA, Fla. – In a hard-fought Gulf South Conference clash on Sunday afternoon, the University of West Florida men's soccer team battled the University of Montevallo to a 0-0 draw at home. Despite a high-energy performance and a dominant shot advantage, the Argonauts were unable to find the back of the net in a tightly contested match.

The game was a back-and-forth battle from the opening whistle, with both sides pushing forward in search of a breakthrough goal. UWF created several dangerous opportunities throughout the match, outshooting Montevallo 15-8. The Argos applied consistent pressure in the attacking third, but Montevallo's defense held strong, backed by a solid performance from their goalkeeper.

West Florida's best chances came in the second half, including a pair of close-range attempts that were either blocked or narrowly missed the target. On the other end, the Argos' backline remained organized and resilient, limiting Montevallo's chances.

With the draw, UWF continues to show strong defensive as they push deeper into GSC play. They'll look to build on today's performance and convert their offensive opportunities into goals in the next matchup.

The Argos return to action next week as they host another conference opponent at home on October 17 at 5 p.m.
